THE STORY
Kashyapa Samhita, c. 600 BCE
“Shatavari nourishes as the moon nourishes the tides—gently, cyclically, and without force.”
Kashyapa Samhita, Stri-roga Adhyaya
The Kashyapa Samhita, one of Ayurveda's earliest texts on women's health and paediatrics, identifies Shatavari as the supreme Rasayana (rejuvenative) for Stri-roga (women's conditions). The formula's addition of Fennel and Licorice follows the Bhaishajya Ratnavali's guidelines for synergising phyto-estrogenic herbs with adrenal support.
ORDERS LAST 7 DAYS
THE RITUAL
Warm 200 ml water or milk to 80°C.
Add one sachet of Rasāyana. Steep for 8 minutes.
The brew will be pale gold with a sweet, warm aroma.
Drink twice daily: morning and evening for hormonal balance.
PHARMACOLOGICAL BENEFITS
Shatavari's saponins modulate estrogen receptors, providing support during menstruation, perimenopause, and menopause.
Fennel's anethole has mild estrogenic activity that complements Shatavari without overstimulation.
Licorice's glycyrrhizin extends cortisol half-life, reducing the adrenal strain that disrupts hormonal cascades.
Cinnamon's cinnamaldehyde improves insulin sensitivity, stabilising the metabolic foundation on which hormones depend.
